Logic Circuit Design in Collaborative Learning

چکیده

This paper describes a project that built a collaborative circuit board to explore various approaches to the Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) notions of awareness and embodiment in Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL). The pedagogical aim of the collaborative circuit board was to allow open dialog amongst student peers when giving and receiving help. A brief overview of CSCL, awareness, and embodiment is given. This is followed by a discussion of the requirements analysis, design, and implementation of the collaborative circuit board with an emphasis on the various awareness and embodiment approaches that were attempted. Results suggest the need for a framework to assess awareness in CSCL applications that does not ignore CSCL’s pedagogical roots.
